DESCRIPTION

As we get older, it’s been hard to consistently play sport. The biggest factor that inhibits people from engaging in sport activities, according to our survey is the difficulty finding sporting partner. To tackle inconsistency in sports due to difficulty finding sporting partners, we came up with beneFIT. beneFIT is a native iOS application that helps connect people with the same sport interest by giving them ability to host and join sport events. With beneFIT, making friends and being fit is not mutually exclusive; we believe that being fit devoid of making friends makes it hard to stay consistent in your fitness journey.  beneFIT was built using SwiftUI, Apple CloudKit and Core Data framework and had been published through TestFlight for internal testing.

This app is one of the applications that I made with another 4 friends during my time as a mentee in Apple Developer Academy @UC Cohort 2022. To be honest the development of this application is not too difficult. However, the application development time approximately 5-7 days was the biggest challenge for us. beneFIT is an online application so we need to learn about using CloudKIT to perform CRUD operations and using AppleID as one of the Sign In methods with limited time.
